Manhattan

Hey y’all! I’m looking to sublet my room in a gorgeous two bedroom on Roosevelt Island from March 1-May 31st (the end of our current lease). There is a possibility of renewal at the end of the lease!

THE ROOM: $1750/month with ALL UTILITIES INCLUDED (except wifi, which is $27.50). Fits a queen bed and some furniture comfortably! You have a view of the Empire State Building from the window! Window AC unit and large double-sliding-door closet. Room will come mostly unfurnished, but I'm happy to leave the bedframe (full-size), a small bookshelf, a chair, and a small IKEA nightstand.

THE APARTMENT: 2 bed/1 bath. Has a dishwasher and stainless steel appliances. It was renovated in 2021 so everything’s shiny and new! Large living room with floor-to-ceiling windows. Super comfy couch in the living room that you can melt into. TV with every streaming service known to humankind.

For anyone concerned about noise level, the walls are concrete and block out just about everything. I turn on my AC/fan at night and it drowns out what little noise there was to begin with. I also enjoy playing guitar and singing loudly, and my neighbors say they’ve never heard it.

The bathroom is beautifully renovated and has excellent water pressure. It is truly one of my favorite things about the apartment.

THE ROOMMATE: 30F, works in hiring/talent acquisition at a preschool. Theatre lover and self-professed “nerd” about Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and basically anything fantasy-related. If you’ve ever seen Outlander, you two will become besties immediately.

The roommate has a cat who is terrified of new people for about ten seconds, then will never leave you alone as he begs for cuddles 😂🥰 he is the sweetest!

THE BUILDING: located a 5 minute walk from the Roosevelt Island F train, it has an elevator and several laundry rooms throughout the complex. Amazon Locker for packages as well!

THE NEIGHBORHOOD: For those wishing for a change of pace, Roosevelt Island is IT! It’s full of parks and greenery, it’s always quiet, but you’re just one stop on the train from Lex-63rd and just 10-15 minutes from Times Square/Midtown. There’s also a ferry stop on the island (Astoria Line) and the Tram, which takes you to Tramway Plaza on 60th and 2nd. It’s a beautiful neighborhood that I’m really going to miss!
