Williamsburg

Hi everyone,

I'm a 31-year-old man looking to fill the second room in my 2-bedroom apartment off the Lorimer L/Metropolitan G in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. I work full-time as a Program Coordinator at NYU Langone Health and am getting my master's in public administration at NYU Wagner, so I'm busy and do spend a lot of time studying. I'm gay, single, am a distance runner, and like to cook and decompress at home in my spare time. I travel as often as I can. I do often get up around 5/5:30 am to make coffee and go running, but am very quiet.

I'm ideally looking for someone around my age who doesn't bring the party home, and is clean, responsible with rent, and good at communicating. I do drink (beer and wine mostly), but the building is smoke-free.

The room: large (I need to measure, but I think it's about 12 x 7?) and bright (it has two windows that face the street below). It includes a large built-in closet with two selves, and a hardwood floor. You are at the other end of the apartment from me, and have plenty of privacy.

Utilities: Not included. We have Spectrum, National Grid, and Con Edison. They typically come out to around $90 -- $110, which I would cover and then bill you for around the 10th of each month.

Deposit: First month's rent (although the landlord may ask for $1400).

The apartment: Fully furnished, recently renovated 2-bedroom on the second floor of a 3-story converted house. Everyone in the building is very friendly and conscientious, so noise isn't really a problem. The backyard is technically open to everyone, although you would need to coordinate with the downstairs neighbors to get to it. I have lived here for nearly 5 years, and can assure you that the landlord is attentive and very kind.

The area: Tree-lined and very quiet, it consists mainly of families. It's well within distance of great shops, grocery stores, restaurants/bodegas, bars, and parks (like the McCarren Park Track!). The building does not have a washer/dryer, although laundromats are located throughout the neighborhood.

Transportation: The Lorimer L train station is about a 3 -- 5 minute walk. Service into Manhattan is soon to be temporarily reduced during weekends and evenings, but alternatives include bus lines just around the corner, the Hewes JMZ (10 minutes away), and Metropolitan G (3 blocks away).

If this feels like a good fit, feel free to hit me up to schedule a viewing!

Thanks,
Zak
