Huge Sunny Studio w/ In-Unit Laundry & Amenities Galore (East Williamsburg)

Pictures including with this listing: 12 pictures from the original StreetEasy listing from when I rented the apartment in April, a picture of what identical units in the building (my next-door neighbor’s unit) are now renting for, and lastly a picture of the apartment with my own furniture in it.

222 Johnson Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11206-2819, United States

Hi everyone! I’m moving into a new place with my boyfriend, and so my current apartment is now up for grabs. Looking for someone to finish out my lease from December 1 or January 1 (either move-in date works) to May 31, 2023. & You can take over the lease in May if you want.

We can also do a different December move-in day (December 22) if you want.

Huge studio apartment in East Williamsburg. In-unit laundry. Luxury building (built in 2021; new building). One block away from the Montrose L train stop. Dishwasher. Giant windows, room gets tons of natural light, beautiful view looks out onto treetops & beyond. Building has great amenities: a furnished rootftop with wraparound views, two-story gym, bike storage room, and resident lounge. Hardwood floors, all new kitchen appliances. Bathtub. Central A/C & central heating. Across the street from cool craft cocktail bars; & coffee places, Win Son bakery & restaurant, brunch places, & more are all within a few blocks. Easy access to Bushwick & rest of Williamsburg. Adorable apartment & it’ll be hard to leave this place!

1 block away from L train; perfect for NYU students, SVA students, & FIT students and/or faculty; or young professionals (professionals of any age, really) who need fast, easy access to Manhattan.

Main part of the apartment is 14 feet x 21 feet (not including bathroom, entryway, & half of kitchen— so it’s even bigger than that)

$3125/month. (An identical unit in the building just got rented for $3195, so you’d be getting a better deal by subletting from me, and can takeover the lease in May at the end of the sublet. When I moved in, my rent was $3050, but since an identical unit in the building just got rented for $3195, subletter's monthly rent will be $3125. The building suggested to me that I ask submitters to pay the current going rate for an apartment this size and layout in the building, but I only want to ask for $3125 so that I can pass along some of the discount I got by getting into this building earlier. Also, this building almost never has any available units in it; people don't tend to move out a lot.)

I originally had to pay a $5400 broker’s fee (I rented my unit before the building went no-fee), but I won’t charge you any broker fee.

& This is a legal sublet! :) Building management gave me written permission to sublet the apartment, and is happy to facilitate lease takeover in May. Avoid the worry and stress of an illegal sublet by choosing my sublet. :)

(Proof of building management’s written permission available upon request.)

The main living area (not including the entryway, closet, big bathroom, and half of kitchen) is over 14 x 21 (huge for New York!). The total square footage is over 345 square feet.

Pets welcome— the building’s rule is that each resident can have one pet (if you’ve got a cat, dog, goldfish, or any other pet, you’re good!)

The apartment is bigger than it looks from the pix (about 40% bigger); video shows it better. You can check out a video tour here:

(Video main pic is the bathroom for some reason? Not sure why. Rest assured I’m renting out the whole apartment, not just the bathroom, haha.)

I’ll require a deposit (one month’s rent) and proof of employment (or proof of other income). Your deposit it will be returned to you as soon as the building returns my deposit to me after move-out. If you elect to do a lease takeover, I’ll either send your security deposit directly to building management or refund it to you (your choice).

While you're subletting from me, as you'll be the sole occupant of the apartment, you'll need to cover utilities used in the apartment (Electric, gas & internet if you want internet. Also water, which this building bills around $25/month for, & sewer service, which the building bills around $20/month for.)

Please feel free to reach out with any questions! Thanks.
