Manhattan
Moving in with my girlfriend which is taking me over to Brooklyn. For the past 16 months this apartment has been fantastic. I was the first to live in it since a major renovation to update everything (new kitchen w/ dishwasher, new bathroom, new closet and new double doors between the living room and bedroom).
Upon entering you have the kitchen counters the entire length of the kitchen, with plenty of cabinet space and a gas stove top. Microwave as well. There is a great raised breakfast bar that easily fits two stools. There is room for a small table or extra storage/shelving as well. The entire kitchen has a nice and new black tile floor, looks similar to slate. Worth noting the kitchen has a large window behind the sink, just next to the stop top.
The living room is just over 10x10, features a window, and offers plenty of room for a large couch (mine is 96"x44" and fits perfectly) as well as another chair plus media console. Featuring wood floors that are in a great shape (were refinished prior to me moving in).
From the living room, you have large (nearly the size of the entire wall between the living room and bedroom) double doors that open up in the bedroom. The bedroom highlights include large fireplace (large mantle for displaying art/candles/photos) a good size closet, and tons of space. I currently fit a queen bed, desk, clothing rack, leaning shelf, and two nightstands - with room to spare.
There are two windows that face East in the bedroom, and they flood the apartment with sunlight, especially when you open the double doors up between the bedroom and living room.
Step outside your new apartment and find an abundance of restaurants, bars, and central park (5 min walk directly West puts you at the steps of The MET). Restaurants within 500 feet include Beyoglu, Blake Lane, and Pizza Beach. You have the Q trains 2 blocks/1 avenue away, and the 4/5/6 available 5 minutes away at 86th / Lexington Ave. Sweetgreen, Fairway Market, Stratbucks, Juice Generation, Crunch Gym (across the street and just expanded in May) as well as SoulCycle. Crosstown buses are two blocks south at 79th Street or north 5 blocks at 86th Street. I work in Union Square and it's about 25 minutes door to door for my commute.
